The website of the Beeldbank Groningen offers beautiful historical photographs and other images of the province of Groningen. See for example the photos below from 1939 and 2024 of the Kijk in ’t Jat-bridge in the city of Groningen. The recent photo I took today for comparison. So, 85 years ago this was still a modest little bridge that was driven over with horses and wagons!

By the way, the old photos were colored by an AI model. This gives a nice comparison effect, unfortunately a lot of resolution gets lost with it.
